Welcome to our website!

The City of Cambridge Brass Band is a Championship Section brass band and is registered as a Charity under the Charities Commission (no. 1083294). The Band is presently self-financing, income being generated from concerts, fund-raising events, subscription fees and donations. This is used to cover a variety of costs such as buying instruments and music, hiring rehearsal facilities, insurance and contest entry fees. The Band is however, always on the lookout for sponsorship from local businesses.

We play many concerts in and around the Cambridge area in places as different as Ely Cathedral and Chequers Court in Huntingdon! We play an even wider varity of music from Gregson's Laudate Dominum to Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, and from Borodin's Polovtsian Dances to Allan's Knight Templar.

If you wish to book the band, please email manager@cambridgeband.co.uk.

Listen to us live

We are currently putting together our diary for 2009. If you would like the band to make your event extra special, please email manager@cambridgeband.co.uk to discuss how we can help.

Here is an example of what concerts we did during 2008:

  • We continued our Churches Tour with music from Gregson to Verdi. For several of these concerts we had the pleasure of performing with Catherine Martin (a soprano singer).
  • We performed a light and varied programme of music for the Trumpington Village Hall Centenary, a Wedding, a garden show at Abbots Ripton Hall and for an afternoon in the park as part of The Cambridge Summer Music Festival.
  • Over Christmas we played carols for an event at Burwash Outlet Village, a drinks reception for a Christmas dinner, and for the shoppers at Bar Hill Tesco.
  • We performed a concert of Christmas music in aid of Headway in the center of Cambridge and performed with the Ely Cathederal Choir in Ely Cathederal
